The Monogorilby Wind Farm and Battery Project is a proposed renewable energy development located near Monogorilby in Queensland’s Western Downs and North Burnett regions. The project is currently in the early stages of development and is being delivered in partnership with LP Renewable Projects (LPRP).
The proposed project will comprise up to 600MW of wind generation capacity alongside a co-located 400MW / 1,600MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), creating an integrated renewable energy facility capable of generating and storing clean energy.
Located approximately 250 kilometres northwest of Brisbane, the project was originally identified and developed by LPRP, with initial feasibility studies commencing in late 2022.
The Monogorilby Renewable Energy Project comprises two development areas that are proposed to be developed together as a single wind farm and battery storage project. The eastern area is progressing through detailed environmental and technical assessment. The western area is at an earlier investigation stage.
Once operational, the project is expected to contribute to Queensland’s renewable energy transition by supporting energy reliability, storage capacity, and the delivery of clean electricity to the National Electricity Market.
