The Summerfield Battery is a large-scale battery storage project that will supply energy to South Australians and the national electricity grid to support Australia’s renewable energy transition.
Summerfield BESS is located in Tepko, near Mannum in South Australia, approximately 55km east of Adelaide.
Summerfield is a four-hour 240MW / 960MWh battery with 222 battery containers over one hectare of land and will support South Australia’s clean energy ambitions by storing renewable energy and releasing it into the grid when it is needed most.
Summerfield BESS is currently undergoing testing and commissioning activities which will continue until the end of 2026.
Summerfield BESS was acquired by Palisade Investment Partners (Palisade) in April 2026.
